At Pocket Stories, we don’t want to get bogged down in legalities any more than the next person. We want you to focus on learning and having fun instead of reading lengthy T&Cs. But it's important for your protection and ours to set out the basics in this formal way. So please read on!
Terms & Conditions
By engaging in our services, you consent to the following agreements:
1. That we may not be able to provide services or content outlined in your courses page for any particular reason. We’ll always aim to deliver the service described in our course details to the letter but technology issues or other external factors, may lead to amends at the last minute.
2. That you will not use, replicate, duplicate, sell, or distribute any of the content provided to you for financial gain or for free to others. We own the rights to all the content you see on our pages, including videos, images, and files presented to you in our courses and within peripheral resources such as Communities and Groups on Thinkific.
3. That your access to our content and services is deliverable only with Thinkific and Zoom accounts. We will not delete your Thinkific account but actions taken by Thinkific, outside of our control, may result in this action, of which we hold no liability or responsibility for.
4. That we are not liable for any use or misuse of the products we use or endorse and cannot guarantee the information we provide will be as helpful or accurate in the future as it is at the point of consumption. This includes the apps, kit, and advice/suggestions/feedback we provide either verbally or in writing.
5. That we cannot guarantee success as a result of our smartphone film making course, nor can we guarantee your experience with the apps or kit we use or endorse will be the same for you as they are for us.
6. That your payment to us is on a pre-sold basis and that we reserve the right to cancel a course, even after payment, for any particular reason. This may include issues with booking training staff, absence of training staff on the day, or if the course has fewer participants than necessary to make the course reasonably worthwhile for us.
6a. In the event of cancellation, we will work with you and your payment provider to issue a full refund as soon as reasonably possible.
7. That you have the right to receive a refund if you cancel your place on a course up to 30 calendar days before the start of the training course that you are booked for. If you cancel after the 30 day grace period, we will not issue a full refund.
7a. In the event you cancel less than 30 days before the course starts, you are eligible for a full refund only on the basis that you can find another person to take your place and they can pay in full instead.
8. That the training staff we have booked for your training sessions may change from those featured at short notice. Your payment to us is for the training itself and not any specific individual providing the training.
9. That any content on Zoom or Thinkific may be filmed, recorded, or saved for future use in our marketing or research, including visual, auditory, or written information that you provide within these platforms.
9a. We welcome you to tell us if you would like to have this type of data excluded from use, if you would prefer. First and foremost, we want all participants to feel like our forums are a safe space to connect and ask questions. It is within your rights under GDPR to question or object to how we use your data.
Additional Agreements
Where examples and lists are given, you accept that these are not exhaustive or definitive unless otherwise stated and are used for illustrative or explanatory purposes.
You accept that any claims we make to deliver a service to you are only possible within the limits of our power as a company. While we can promise, we cannot always deliver.
Additional Information
Our Introduction to Filming and Editing courses are priced, as standard, at £225 GBP, including VAT. We can change the price of our courses at any time and we are not liable to repay you if the price of our courses drops below the rate you, specifically, paid. Discounts and coupons may be provided and revoked at our discretion. We are not liable or responsible for any conversion rates or commission rates that your bank, PayPal, or Stripe take from you for your purchase.
Included in the price you pay for our course are two training sessions, provided either one one day (weekends) or over two sessions a week apart, as well as a guaranteed 60 days of ongoing support. Our training is administered live through Zoom and on our peripheral resources within Thinkific. We are not liable or responsible for issuing refunds based on your personal encounters with these services, or for any other personal reason that may prevent you from attending our sessions, such as missing our live Zoom training, or not having access to the internet.
Your payment to us is a one-time fee for the services and content described in our course outline. We will not add any additional costs to you for providing these services, change the way we offer our services, or change the way you access our services, if that includes a financial expense to you and financial benefit to us.

This may include updating you on the status of your booked course or a request to sign up to marketing emails.
